He then led the clinical, commercial, and regulatory development of STROHAB at University College Dublin, supported by Science Foundation Ireland (now Research Ireland) through the National Challenge Fund.

He graduated from the University of Gezira, Sudan, in 2019 and moved to Ireland in mid-2023. He has since gained clinical experience across emergency medicine, acute general surgery, geriatrics, stroke, and orthopaedic rehabilitation. He holds an MSc in Human Clinical Anatomy, a PGCert in Medical Education and is currently halfway through the membership of the Royal College of Surgeons.

After an earlier career in the insurance industry, he retrained as a nurse and progressed to the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), where he led the development of Ireland’s first nurse-led flexible cystoscopy service for bladder cancer surveillance, a model now implemented in multiple hospitals nationwide. His interest in system-level improvement later led him to a role as a Healthcare Inspector with the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), where he assessed safety, quality, and governance across public and private hospitals.
