Conor McKiernan
Conor is a mechanical engineer by training with a BSc and MSc from University College Dublin, but he has a strong business acumen, recently graduating from a full time MBA at Esade Business School, Barcelona. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in biopharmaceutical science from NIBRT and ATU.
His career began with the global biopharmaceutical company AbbVie, where he joined their prestigious Operations Development Program. A program which rotates participants through various functions of AbbVie's global business over a 3 year period. During this time he worked right across the healthcare operations value chain including medical devices, vaccine manufacture, tableting, and supply chain operations at various locations globally. He later joined Wuxi Biologics, a global CDMO as a Process Engineer to assist with a large-scale new plant build, and was eventually promoted to Design Manager before departure for his full time MBA in Barcelona. His most recent role was with We Venture Capital, a corporate VC with a focus on diagnostics and digital health. He brings a unique perspective at the intersection of engineering, business, and innovation. He is passionate about getting closer to real clinical problems and building impactful solutions. With deep technical expertise, global industry experience, and a strong entrepreneurial mindset, he sees BioInnovate as the ideal platform to turn unmet clinical needs into scalable, patient-focused technologies.
