Elva Arulchelvan recently completed a PhD in Psychology & Neuroscience at Trinity College Dublin, where she led a clinical study investigating the effects of non-invasive electrical brain stimulation on memory in individuals with subjective memory decline & mild cognitive impairment. Her doctoral research, supported by the Alzheimer's Association, focused on understanding the mechanisms of forgetting & exploring approaches to improve memory. Her work has resulted in several first-author publications in leading neuroscience journals & invited presentations at international research institutions, including the Karolinska Institute. Before returning to academia, Elva worked in project management, technology, & commercial roles at companies including HubSpot, Deliveroo, & Wufu Investments.

Having completed her undergraduate in International Commerce and Chinese, she began her career in business-facing roles where she worked closely with clients to understand their business needs, using data and cross-functional collaboration to develop practical solutions that improved performance and growth. This experience provided a strong foundation in user-focused problem solving and commercial strategy. Her subsequent studies in psychology deepened her interest in how people think, behave, and make decisions, which naturally led her toward health and behaviour research. Through her PhD and clinical work, she developed expertise in translating complex scientific questions into real-world research studies and potential clinical applications.
