In 2003, Paula graduated from Trinity College Dublin as an Occupational Therapist. She presents with 13 years of varied clinical experience in both the public sector & private practice. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, she has worked in a variety of settings; hospital, community & educational. Paediatrics has been predominantly her area of expertise & she has played a pivotal role in developing paediatric services in Galway. Paula has gained extensive postgraduate qualifications in Sensory Integration, Postural Management, Assistive Technology, Autism and Movement disorders (DCD & Cerebral Palsy). In addition to her clinical experience, Paula assumed the role of Acting Paediatric Occupational Therapy Manager for HSE-W Community Paediatric Services in Galway.
Paula has experienced a diverse range of international healthcare systems through her clinical work & post graduate training & successfully secured sponsorship to work in Australia to develop rural and outreach paediatric services. She lectures & provides training workshops on various topics to universities to the faculties of medicine, allied health & education. Paula is excited to work in an environment that fosters innovation, joining a diverse expert team & having the opportunity to potentially design future medical device technologies. In her free time, Paula enjoys keeping fit and active and travelling.
