Annette has over 18 years’ Pharmaceutical industry experience across a range of sectors including clinical research, distribution, training and medical affairs. Having graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) with an honours degree in Science, she subsequently completed her PhD from UCD in cardiovascular pharmacology. She commenced her career in clinical research when she joined ICON Plc and subsequently Smith Kline Beecham. Annette broadened her technical ability and developed strong commercial awareness during her time with United Drug Plc where she was responsible for the technical and quality aspects of their pharmaceutical wholesaling and distribution businesses. Prior to joining Amgen in 2005, she ran Scope Educational Services, a small Irish training company who provided training to healthcare professionals. In Amgen, Annette held Senior Medical Affairs roles, setting up the Medical Affairs function and establishing a clinical trials presence in Ireland across a number of therapeutic areas. Since early 2015, she has been the Project Manager for the European Commission, FP7 funded NILVAD Alzheimer’s trial in Trinity College Dublin. Annette is looking forward to the joining the BioInnovate program and embracing her passion for bringing the right option to the right patient, leading to better outcomes. In her spare time Annette enjoys the outdoors with her family and also enjoys cycling and reading.
