Tony has over 16 years of experience in product development within the medical device sector. Having graduated from GMIT with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tony has held multiple design and development engineering roles at Medtronic Vascular, Vysera Biomedical and most recently Creganna Medical. During this time, Tony has worked in a design and program management capacity on the development and commercialisation of a diverse range of minimally invasive devices for the Cardiovascular, Gastro-Intestinal, Urological and Bariatric markets. Combined with his technical and program management experience, Tony has experience in regulatory submissions within multiple territories during his time with Medtronic and Creganna where he played a key role in the approval of numerous devices. Tony also has experience in mergers and acquisitions during his time with Vysera biomedical, where he played a key role in the preparation of the approval of the Vysera Anti-Reflux control valve and its subsequent purchase and licensing by Merit Medical. Tony has a great passion for the identification, development and commercialisation of novel solutions for unmet clinical needs and is excited to have the opportunity to be part of the Bioinnovate Fellowship programme.
